Welcome to Vanlife Explorers, the home of Tony, Kelly, and our faithful companion, Little Lenny—a retired Scottish ambulance with a heart as big as the Highlands and more stories still waiting to be written.

This isn't just a travel website.

It's our story of slowing down, rediscovering what really matters, and proving that it's never too late to chase the life you've always imagined.

Meet Little Lenny

After years of dedicated service helping people across Scotland, Little Lenny officially retired from duty in 2024.

Rather than ending up forgotten, a talented craftsman lovingly transformed this hardworking ambulance into a cosy home on wheels. When Tony first met Little Lenny, it wasn't just another campervan—it felt like finding an old friend with countless adventures still left to share.

Today, Tony continues to make Little Lenny his own, adding thoughtful improvements and personal touches that turn a well-built conversion into a true home. Like any old vehicle with character, there's always another project waiting around the corner, and that's all part of the adventure.

Little Lenny may have stopped responding to emergencies, but these days he's answering a different kind of call—the call of winding roads, hidden beaches, misty mountains, and unforgettable memories.

Meet Tony

Tony has always believed that life is about people first.

A devoted family man, he treasures every moment spent with those closest to him. Whether he's caring for his mum and dad, spending time with his children, making memories with his grandchildren, or lending a helping hand wherever it's needed, family has always been at the centre of everything he does.

After working hard for many years, retirement offered something precious—time.

Time to breathe.

Time to explore.

Time to discover places he'd only ever dreamed about.

Tony's practical nature means there's rarely a tool far from his hand. If something can be improved, repaired or built, chances are he'll be planning the next project before the kettle has finished boiling. Every journey brings another idea, another upgrade and another excuse to make Little Lenny even better.

Meet Kelly

For as long as she can remember, Kelly dreamed of a life filled with freedom, adventure and the open road.

Growing up, weekends were rarely spent indoors. Childhood memories were made around campsites, hiking trails, woodland walks and family adventures. Days were filled with bird watching, exploring nature and attending vintage car rallies, where every classic engine seemed to have a story of its own.

One passion has remained constant throughout it all—photography.

It was more than simply taking pictures; it became a special bond shared with her beloved dad. Together they captured landscapes, wildlife and precious family moments, creating memories that will always hold a special place in her heart. Although he is no longer here, every photograph taken on our travels carries a little piece of him along for the journey.

Like many people searching for something more, Kelly explored different paths over the years. She raised a family, studied online, and poured her heart into building several businesses, always believing that one day she would create a life that reflected who she truly was.

Vanlife became that dream.

Not an escape from life—but a way of living it more fully.

Vanlife Explorers isn't about having the biggest motorhome or travelling the furthest.

It's about showing that adventure belongs to everyone.
